We are sorry to announce that Mark Hathaway recently died after struggling with a long-standing illness.
Mark was very close to the band: he ran our official fanclub and was a friend.
He was also a friend to many people across the world through the fanclub. If you knew Mark and would like to say a few words, please do so with comments below:
We have been shocked by the news of recent events in Chile and our sympathy goes out to everyone there, especially our fans who we feel we have built such a strong relationship with since our last visit. We are looking forward to our return trip and have been for a long time now and want everyone to know that our thoughts are with them in this very difficult time. We only hope we can return the support that we have felt over the years.
Alex, Paul, Nick, Bob and everyone on the Franz Ferdinand tour.
Hey everyone.
It's a pretty exciting time for us - Ulysses was out last week, and the album is released on Monday, the 26th.
We've had a such a great response, so thanks for all your support.
We're playing a wee set in Rough Trade East tonight at 9pm, so if you're in the area and fancy getting a copy of Ulysses, they'll give you a free wristband to get in to the show if you get it from them.
If you are in London and can't make it to Rough Trade, we're playing a lunchtime set on Monday 26th January at 1.00pm at HMV on Oxford Street.
We're working on franzferdinand.co.uk all of the time, trying new ideas. Bob's constantly updating the Kyte video diary and the blog is now open for comments if you want to join in a discussion. We're getting the online shop together too, so from now you can buy the single and order the album online through the site.
We'll be touring properly from March onwards, so can't wait - see you all then.
In case you didn't know, we have a single out today and and an album out next week.
You can order it from the shop right here as well new merchandise, t-shirts, badges, bags etc.
Tonight we're playing a wee show at Rough Trade East, off Brick Lane, great space, did it with Correcto last year and I won't bore you with the hundred reasons Rough Trade is so important to all of us.
You need to buy "Ulysses" and you get a wristband that gets you into the show tonight. We're on at 9.
Then we're gonna go down to the very last Durrr at the End. Got any better plans for a monday night?
BBC Radio 2's Mark Radcliffe / Stuart Maconie nominated Ulysses for their 'Pick N Mix' listener vote this week - the winner will be their Record Of The Week next week.
We are looking forward to coming to Barcelona and although the show at Espacio Movistar is sold out, we have held back some tickets to give away to our fans.
Email here : franzferdinand@gamerco.com with your full name, postcode, city, ID number, mailing address, date of birth, and cell number.
This info will only be used to make sure tickets go to fans and not ticket touts. We will not hold onto it, or use it for anything other than this ticket give-a-way.
The first 100 people to send in their details will be contacted and given collection instructions on the day of the show.
